Hi Alex,

You wouldn't have to go to the trouble of building a robot. All you have to do is convince a spellbinding speechwriter, or a top-notch courtroom lawyer to make a speech trying to convince the listener that he/she is really conscious. Then tape record and re-play the speech.

If the speech was convincing do you think that would make the tape recorder conscious?
