Terrorists Vs Freedom Fighters

The usual distinction is whether or not the people are terrorizing in their homeland or someone else's. If they are fighting in their own homeland, especially against foreigners, they are freedom fighters. If they are fighting or whatever in some other homeland, they are terrorists.

But the distinction can be murky.Are the US terrorists in Afganistan? Was McVeigh a freedom fighter in Oklahoma?
