Alex,

I have been following Cahill's work for some time because of my interest in loop quantum gravity. Below I copy over his most recent papers. In LQG he is considered a phenomenologist.

The #1 paper below is the most interesting. In it he redefines Newton's theory of gravity to include the flow of something- gravity I guess- and finds that it explains the dark matter data without needing any new matter like neutralinos or axions. The new flow term in Newton's theory contains the fine structure constant and from that fact he surmises that it is a quantum gravity effect.

-----------------

I am not particularly happy that someone is doing away with dark matter as it is the basis of my thinking on non-local consciousness and life after death. So I submitted that paper to the rather learned guys on the Physics Forum. They all considered it fringe physics, but could not determine is it was legitimate physics or not.

The link you gave me to Cahill's home page helps alot. My guess is that his reformulation of classical gravity theory is another approach to quantum gravity. At least that is what he seems to be claiming. His Cornell archive papers do not make such a claim. They are written with a minimum of extra philosoplical baggage, which is the right way to publish something so revolutionary. DrDick could learn from that, if you are familiar with his claims.

But on his academic page he lets it all hang out. My suspicion is that the term 'process physics' is just another name for quantum gravity and when it's all said and done, it will be considered a phenomenological theory of LQG. That will be a really significant contribution as it allows for experiments and observations that could verify or falsify LQG. However, it is not a separate kind of physics never done before. My prediction is that as soon as the LQG physicists like Smolin, Rovelli, Bojowald, Theiman, etc. begin to take Cahill seriously, they will derive his process flow term from LQG and subsum his whole theory.

I'll provide a few LQG links below in case you are interested in quantum gravity.

Richard
