Orion Skyglow Filters

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Orion Skyglow filters. I just got my Orion Skyview Pro 6LT over the weekend so I am still in the process of learning to use it. The area I live in has a considerable amount of light pollution. I am going to join the local astronomy group so I can get access to their dark sky site but for those nights that I just want to do some observing from my backyard, I was hoping that this filter would help cut down the amount of star "washout". Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael Robbins
