Of course it could be cool down time. Could be collimation. How did you check that. Could be the sky was not steady. You know to wait for those moments of clarity. What eyepiece were you using? You should get a real good view of Saturn with a 12.5" scope no matter what focal length. You should see the Cassinni division with no problem. How are the stars focusing? They should be points. If they're fat or looking like small comets your out of collimation. Keep us posted.
