Bob or anyone else that can answer this,

I have a got the cheapest of the cheap tasco scope, I have got two questions:
1. When I used this scope this morning at about 5:00 I tried to see venus and any detail about Jupiter. I couldnt see anything but just the brightness of either. And when I did get 'focused' there was green haze around the edges, it this just a 'feature' of the eyepiece or something else?

2. is a 25mm half as much light as 50mm or 1/4
