Bob,

I already made the purchase and you said it a cheap department store TASCO. I wish I had bought and then found these discussions in reverse then I would have known better. My Daughter and I tried to look at Mars last night, I live north of dallas. When I try to focus on it all we can see is a blurry with a lot of red and green around the edges of the actual object. The moon on the other hand looks great.

Is this a sympton of the eyepiece it only zooms from 20-60x on an erecting zoom eyepiece.
