On 9/28/00 My husband and I observed an large object burning up entering the earth`s atmosphere. It appeared from the southwest and travel across the southern sky at approx 40 degrees up from the horizon till we lost in the eastern sky line. We live in central Ill andit was approx 9:20 PM. Has anyone heard of any similar reports from last nite? Was it a meteor or some space trash falling to Earth?
