I own the Meade LX10 and opted to get the Magellan I computer control system .
The scope is good for the price and I have no complaints here, but, the Magellan did cause some problems during installation and afterwards.
The declination encoder shaft had a course thread. (My LX10 has a fine thread so had to rethread the shaft). After installation you find that you are unable to rotate the OTA into the fork assembley as the installed gear assembley and RA encoder are in the way. Transporting the scope with the OTA outside the fork assembley provides a greater rish of damage.
The Magellan I is over priced, $585 CDN not including taxes and makes use of a lot of plastic. (can`t help but wonder how long it will last?) It does, however, work great, has a lot of functions and over 12000 objects can be found quickly.
