I am also new and have been searching for several weeks for a 1st scope. I have found a plethora of useful information out there including this site.

The top 2 have specific focal lenght descriptions. The bottom one just alot of good information.

BTW the only G-8n I see at Celestrons website is a 1000mm (f/5)
