Hello! I just discovered this forum & it looks very informative! I have a question. Does anybody own or have any positive or negative comments about the Orion Skywatcher 120mm EQ refractor? This is an achromatic telescope, so I'm wondering about the effects of chromatic aberration. I've seen a couple of comments on websites, in books, etc. about the largest practical achromatic 'scope being about a 90mm. The reason I'm asking this is because I recently moved to an apartment, and I'm looking into buying a good, portable refractor. I have a Meade DS 10-inch reflector which I love, but it has to stay at my parents house for a while. I also have an Orion Skyview 90mm EQ refractor, which I took with me when I moved. But I'm just looking at other options. I'd love to get a 4-inch or bigger apochromatic 'scope, but that's beyond my budget right now! So, how 'bout this 120mm refractor? Should I stay away from it & look for something else, should I buy it, or should I just shut up & be content with my 90mm?? I'd appreciate any comments! Thanks a lot!
