Robert K. You have described exactly what I have envisioned for my attic. One of the main stumbling blocks will be scope stability. I want to begin construction however I don't want to attempt it if the image will constantly be vibrating. The scope will be totally remote so I won't be in the attic with it. That may help. I will be one story down below in my office where the computer is. I plan on supporting the weight of the plate on a "handle like eggs" plate,(used for stabilizing aircraft attitude gyro's) suspended from the rafters. If anyone has an idea as to a better platform I'd love to hear it.
