Santa is a good listener & gave me a Celestron G5 (5" f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain) telescope for Christmas, & despite the incredible light coming from the moon this week, has shown me stunning views of Saturn with its rings (did I really see a shadow of the rings across the face of the planet?), & Jupiter with its moons & spot, & the nebula off Orion's belt. It's been a long time since I've had a decent telescope, & I'm psyched to get back into things!
Now earlier this year I had purchased a Kodak DC4800 3.1 megapixel digital camera, which has great resolution for normal photography, but I was hoping if someone can tell me whether or not I should be able to simply mount this camera to my G5 with the available T-connector (I have a 43mm-35mm stepdown ring on order, necessary for this camera)? I am concerned that without being able to remove the lens from the camera, I won't be able to capture an image properly. I realize this wasn't the intent the camera was designed for, but maybe there's a creative configuration that can make it all click?
Any thoughts? |
