: re - We do know. It does enter the nucleus. Look up electron capture decay. - That is a Quantum description of why the electrons probability distribution overlaps the probabilty discribution of the nucleus. It doesn't explain why electrons can state in stationary states without being captured.

ZC: But thats not what he asked. He asked why they don't enter the nucleus. You thought they didn't. They do.
