: I have been told that mass cannot truly be converted to : energy. Is this true? The best paradigm(in my opinion) for mass/energy is to think of mass as local proper frame energy. In this light mass already is a form of energy. Instead of thinking of it as something other than energy being converted into energy, it can be thought of as an energy other than kinetic being converted into kinetic. In this way of thinking about it mass isn't converted into energy, but instead one form of energy called mass is converted into another called kinetic. |
