So as the first atoms fall in...... the black hole will expand and "gulp-up" a few more. Then more and more until the metal sheet is gone and you're left with a larger blackhole. I am, of course, ignoring air particles (say it was done in space) and the Hawking Effect (may be irrelevant to a basketball sized hole anyway because it'd take to long to cause a noticible effect). I may be totaly wrong but that's my first guess when I thought about it. Let me know....... : Once an object is within 1.5 R_s there is no stable : orbit available and everything within will be : dragged into the hole I believe this is not true... If what you are saying is true then a baseball sized black hole could run into to Jupiter and engulf the entire planet. |
