It's anthropic not anthropocentric. Time is not a dimension like spatial dimensions it is totally different. The gravitational field is spacetime and there can be no gravitational field without matter because matter is is a manifesting of the field. Absolute nothingness is concept that is very difficult to imagine because nothingness is nothing - no field no matter - no time - absolutely - nothing. It most cerainly is not empty space becaus space is something.
