Regardless of what elements life may or may not depend on, its reasonable to assume that life cannot survive or evolve under extreme conditions. For example: I don't think you could find life in the nucleus of a star, or life at Absolute Zero, or life in the vacuum of space. Also, life as we know it is made up of and requires liquid, gas, and solid states of matter. If you know of any other elements that could approximate these states without being under extreme conditions that don't occur on Earth, let us know.
