I still have some serious questions about blackholes that seem to never get answered.

It deals with time and the event horizon. People seem to casually say that black holes suck material into themeselves all the time, but I tend to differ.

I believe that because of the effect of time dilation, it will never be possible to see this take place. every object and any object with mass that approaches the event horizon will become infinitely close, but never enter within this time/space continuum.

any thoughts? comments?
