So your photon being a packet of swirling aether, that is also in rectilinear motion, somewhat fits the description of a wave.

But while the generation of the rectilinear motion of the photon packet, or of the wave, may be easily comprehended by the outburst of a decaying electron orbit, the wave does not require a swirl. Then one may ask: what mechanism imparts the swirl to the photon packet at generation? And why should it rectilinearly travel at c?

Whoops, sorry; got to go. I'll be back to pursue this a bit more.
