If that is your argument, it looks pretty sound to me (but that isn't saying much).

It is the compression that raises the temperature, right? Or is it the energy that raises the temperature (temperature is just a measure of energy, right?)? But how can the mass be both compressed and converted into energy at the same time? Or is the mass converted to energy and the energy compressed? Can energy be compressed?

Some of the questions will not make sense after some of the other ones are answered, I guess, but I think that if you clarify the process (or your idea of what the process actualy *is* and *does*) then your idea will look even more sound.
