Difference Between A Theory And A Hypothesis.

Let me make one correction here. What you are talking about is called hypothesis (educated guess). A theory is a mathematical description of OBSERVED FACTS, so as long as it is not applied far beyond thise facts, it is correct (versus hypothesis, which can be correct and become a theory or incorrect and new hypothesis will be proposed).

That is why theories (of gravity, relativity, quantum mechanics, Big Bang, etc.) are so powerfull, versus educated (or not really) guesses like about ghosts, gods, devils, etc.
