The metaphors are in what the Rabbis wrote concerning the creation of this world. God did not literally do it in 10 days.

You demonstrate the sin of pride when you say that I am not reborn on your sense but that you are reborn. I have it on good authority (Jesus himself) that I am with him and that I have done in this life what he expected of me and what I promised to him that I would do.
