Is This Anything Like Symmetry Breaking?

I understand there;s a Symmetry Breaking model in which gravity is depicted as (a number of) collapsing or "tiny" dimensions, and the remainder of the universe is (a number of) expanding dimensions . "Time" is the "limbo" between these "breaking" dimensions. Is this what SB is, and is this a 5-D model?
