I would like to try to use a short section of some 5" PVC pipe as a bearing to rest a 12" Sonotube on a Dobbie base. I will need to grind the ends of the PVC material to match the circumference of the 12" cardboard tube. PVC pipe is quite hard, and I am wondering if anyone has any experience in machining the ends of PVC to match such a circumference.
