Thanks for the feed back. I keep wondering, though, why all I can generally find are people building big dobs. Is it more bang for the buck or is it that much easier to build a mirror cell? And the Newport Glass site also cautions that grinding a lens is not for beginners. It all makes me a little nervous.

As my grinidng will be pretty much limited to alternate weekends, (or less frequently) it's gonna take awhile and I plan on doing this only once. As I can afford to buy a medium-big dob, but not a big refractor, I figured I'd shoot for the stars, (as it were). . .
