Please Help With New Telescope

Hey all,
i'm new to astronomy and telescopes in general.
I was recently given a meade ds114at telescope. considering that i can exchange it and get a better one by adding the difference in prices, what do you think i should do?
the telescope cost 232.00 dollars, and even if I exchange it I'd rather not spend more than 350.00 dollars.
Given these circumstances, please do reply with your advice asap.
