Debating on whether or not I could grind my own. I am a little scared of it. It seems that it would have to be so perfect. I guess I would start with an 8" or maybe 10". I am wanting a 1800mm focal length for planetary observing. Are long focal lenghts easier to grind? What is a good web site to get an idea of the details? I am willing to buy a book to get indepth but for now I am just looking into it. Also, Newport Glass sells the pre figured blanks. Does this take the fun out of it? I know if I want the 1800mm that I will have to rough grind myself.

Thanks for any help
Marty
