Cassegrain Telescope - It Is Practical?

I am wondering if a cassegrain telescope design is still a practical design given that we have SCT and RC designs.

I have priced optics from Star Instruments and find the cost to not be objectionable. The details include 10 inch diameter with an effective focal ratio of f/15.

Can someone please provide reasons this is a fine choice for certain missions, but not so good for others?

Much thanks folks.

John
