Your point about area vs diameter is well taken and correct. Not having been back into the atm realm that long, I don't know about past arguments on the net. I found the article interesting in that the basic conclusion was EITHER way you go on diagonal sizing, small or large, the visual difference is not that readily noticable if within a 15~25% range, which closely approximates my experience with my 10", which was definitely undersized with a 1.5" diagonal. My new 12.5" will have a 2.5" diagonal (f/5 system) and I have already been told that is too small, even though the 100% coverage will be right at 1/2 inch. Oh well, I'll still enjoy using it!!!!
