Sub Diameter Tools

I just got a 12.5" f/5 ft mirror that is almost completely polished. I need to make a tool to put a lap on to complete. Question - could I get away with my 10" tool that I used to make my 10" f/6.8.
It would be sub diameter, but not by much. What is the ideal sub diameter tool size to parabolize a 12.5" mirror? Any problem areas I should look for?
Thanks!
Walter
