Ok, I nothing about telescope making- how hard can it be? So I guess I want to make a 8" reflector. Is it foolish for me to buy some kit and build it or it better to go slower: start smaller, read books, take classes. Where's the best place to get kits, blanks, or whatever. I live in torrance (near LA) should look in the yellow pages or buy on the internet? Are there expensive tools which make the job a lot easier and better (I'm I going to waste 100s of hours making a poor quality mirror- for the joy of a hobby)?
