| Grinding Mirrors

How much does it cost to buy the supplies needed to grind a mirror? I am thinking of building a telescope, but I already have a six-inch Dob and an eight-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain, so I want this one to be big. However, mirror prices are very high. Does it cost signifigantly less to grind my own mirror? (I would want 12" or above, by the way.) Thank you! |
