Thanks for the comments.

Some bicycle car mounts or racks come with strapping to hold the mount to the car. The strapping is made of nylon (or something close to it) and looks similar to a seat belt, but it`s not as wide.

Some ATMers go to a junk yard and get an old seat belt to use for the mirror mount sling. Others may go to a 2nd hand clothing store and buy an old belt. You just need something flexible and strong.
