Hello. As part of a university project i am part of a group hoping to build a telescope to track satellites across the sky. The bulk of the work is finished, and the telescope has altitude and alzimuth controls. However i am slightly confused as to how to position the telescope initially. Is it just a case of pointing it north and ensuring that the base is level? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

Chris.
