I forgot to mention in previous reply that you need to find out the duty cycle of your kiln,if it can handle running continuously for weeks or a few months at a time,as well as the maximum temp,cone 10 or better i think produces
2300-2400f,i do know that you can cast a mirror in
a kiln i know someone who has done it.
also pyrex when melted is not like melted metal like i once thought,its more like cold honey,takes
awhile to conform to shape of mold.
another thing ive considered is the cost of the
electricity to run a kiln/furnace for extended periods of time! I suppose cast alot of small mirrors, or one or more large mirrors at a time!
