Hey gang!

Just to let ya know, that I got my first dob finished. Its a 6" F/8, bought the 2 mirrors, and made the rest by hand, (well home depot helped alot).

The first one to look through the scope was my g/f, seeing as she put up with me as I built the scope. Living in So. Calif leaves much to be desired as far as air quality, but, its hard to miss an almost full moon. :)

After using a smaller "telescope" (tasco 2+" refractor), its hard to believe that you CAN actually build a good quality telescope on your own.

While I hardly ever post in this forum, I do read all the messages daily. A few of the subjects are still too advanced for me, but I do a little research every night about the topics that I come across in here.

I want to thank all the ATM`s out there, including you guys/gals, for the great info and support you supply people like me.

Jack McQuaide

PS. I`m giving my Tasco to one of the kids down the street, who was very interested and curious about the "thing" I was building out of plywood and cardboard.
