I have discovered a good strong light tube can be made from and old water softner or water filter. They are available in various lengths from 3ft to 4ft and various diameters from 8" to 12". This tubes are made of approx 1/4" fiberglass. Talk to plumbers, or home owners who have recently installed new water purification systems.
