Indeed, there are many inovative ways to build a telescope. Your tubes that you mentioned probably will work out fine. I`ve seen coffee cans for 4.5" scopes. Old ice cream cartons for 10" scopes and so on. Another place too that is a good source of tubes are carpet warehouses. Carpets that are shipped from the mills use various tubes to wrap the carpets on for shipping. I`ve seen them as large as 16" in diameter. |
