Hi,
This is my first time posting and I`m very new to atm. In fact I got bit by the bug refurbishing a 4.5" newt that someone threw away. Turned out really well. Couldn`t believe it when I put it all together and the optics were in alignment. Pounded out a big dent where the focuser and finder scope went.

Since this happy event I been surfing the net for atm info and found a ton of it. The one thing I find they all have in common is they deal with making large aperture reflectors.

My question to you all is: Is this the only scope atm people make? Since I am starting from ground zero I was going to try making small refractors (2-3") just so I could learn the principles of telescoope design and get some experience in the building phase. (not to mention I could use a better finder scope on my scope)

Any comments or suggestions welcomed.

charlie
