I recently "stumbled" across a site that talked about a Dobsonian telescope. So, after quite a few nights scouring the web search engines, and gathering quite alot of info about it, including making you own mirrors, I have decided to build a Dobsonian scope.

I currently own a 3" refractor that a friend gave to me, and I used to drool over the nice scopes in magazines, but, could possibly never afford to won.

I am going to build a 6" f/8 classic Dobsonian scope, using the old cardboard sonotube, and purchase the main mirror and secondary. I may get into grinding and polishing the main mirror at a later time.

As for now, wish me luck. I`ve already started to look around for a good price on the main mirror. Looks like there is a vendor close to me in the Los Angeles area.

I`ll let ya know how things progress.
