I recently read the article in June 2003's Sky & Telescope on P.117 about taking photos of the planets with a webcam. Just a couple questions about that.

I presume you need to take a laptop out with you to be able to do this? If so, I don't have a laptop, and I won't be dragging my pc out with me at night, so I was wondering if you could achieve the same results using an ordinary digital camera?

I'm referring to the pictures of Saturn & Jupiter in Sky & Telescope's article about webcams. I'm sure it would take some practice to get good at making pictures like that, but was just wondering if it was realistic. Also, would I need any other equipment/accessories besides a digital camera and an adapter to attach it to the telescope?
