Yes, that will work...but I notice from the source that when Xephem calls skyloc_fifo() to output the record to xephem_loc_fifo, it takes an Object as an argument (and therefore contains all the information I want) but then calls db_write_line() to convert the object to .edb format.

Is it permissible to add code to skyloc_fifo() to output in a different format which includes current circumstances? For example, I can check for a resource using getXRes() and output in a different format if the resource is defined. If undefined, or defined "False", I output in .edb format.
