Happy New Millennium!

I have written a program that will convert catalogs in the XE format (e.g. ppm.xe and tycho.xe) from the XEphem 3.2.3 distribution to the XE2 format used by XEphem 3.4. I've checked with Elwood (to avoid toe-stepping, etc) and he said it was fine to post a notice about it here, but that he has not tested the program and therefore does not "endorse" it.

You can download it from http://www.cs.gordon.edu/~senning/xephem/xe-to-xe2.c. Read the comments in the file to see how to compile it and how to use it. Of course, you'll
need to get the original tycho.xe and ppm.xe catalogs from somewhere...
