"Glass Worms" On Mars May Be "Lava Tubes"

The "glass worms" or tubular passages seen on the Mars surface may be lava tubes.

Lava flows can leave tubular shells behind along surfaces as the liquid core flows away downstream of a vent leaving a cooler hardened outer crust. Usually this occurs at volcanos, but not always.
