Yes, you are absolutely right!

And, I think, actually the whole planet is covered by a few miles of red water ocean - it is red, because it should keep oxygen dissolved for the use of the civilization undrerground. And actually Mars is hollow in 15 miles depth beneath the 3 mile shell supporting outer ocean, and all civilisation lives in this 15 mile gap between the inner body and the shell. The shell protects them against elements of space and deadly Sun's radiation.

On the inner surface of the nshell they have artificial Sun, Moon and stars. Theis cars use solar energy dirctly from artificial Sun during day and from Moon at night, they have portable nuclear plants in each apartment and the abundance of energy lets them warp underground space and vastly expand it to the size well beyound Solar System, although antimatter antivarp makes it look small small for the outside observer. Accelerating time of any alien space probe approaching Mars to enormous degree of speed they in effect create an illusion of lack (or very slow) changes on Mars surface, so noone can detect their activity unless observing single small area (about 0.135 sq foot) over 4.67 million years.

By intersepting metric units in the commands sent from Earth to probes, they convert them into English units to effectively make probes to take wrong orbit, to get lost or to burn, so no one can come so dangerousely close that may have chance to discover them.
