: We launch them all either eastward to conserve on energy expenditure using the motion imparted by the earth's rotation or on more extremely rare occasion throw them into polar (north south) orbits for weather observation purposes, but never westward. If you saw anti-parallel motion its more likely you saw a UFO then satellites.

Well, not ALL sattelites. Israel for example, sends all her sattelites westward, 'cause she's afraid her rockets might fall on enemy land, and then... oops!
