You haven't really supplied enough info for anyone to make a real guess. It was probably a plane, and lights can change color depending on what's in the atmosphere. A meteor is a good bet. A better bet is a low altitude satellite picking up and relfecting the lights from the sun, the moon and the earth. I've seen satellites on cruise ships out at sea, and they can be very eerie at first. There are so many answers, and every one of them is more plausable than an alien spacecraft. Call your local newspaper and police department and find out if anythign was reported that night, and ask what explanations were given. Good luck.
