Lunar Map Pro Software

If you are looking for lunar mapping software, beware of the onerous copy protection scheme used by Riti with its Lunar Map Pro software.

Copy protection schemes were rooted out of the software market 20 years ago with good reason. They are at the very least annoying and inconvenient.

In the case of Lunar Map Pro, a user must have the cd in a drive of the computer in order to use the software. If, like me, you use your computer in several locations, you must have the cd with you all the time. If you use a portable without an internal cd you are out of luck.

I requested a refund from the company, albeit a few days after the return period and was denied flatly. They clearly do not trust their user base.

There are other lunar mapping software packages out there (see Astronomy - April 2003)
