Hi all,

We are students at Nottingham University and are making a piece of astronomical software for our second year Computer Science group project. It is designed to help astronomers locate many of the popular objects in the sky easily and without much equipment by simulating the relative motion of the solar system and as well as more distant objects (eg. the stars and the Messier objects). It could also control a remote telescope. Our intentions are to make the software similar to Starry Night but better. A large part of the project is designing it for the end user, so we wondered what software you use (if any) and more importantly what features you currently enjoy and/or would like to see in such software. Thank you for your help.
